England is justifiably world-famous for its majestic buildings and a history that spans thousands of years. Throughout its long and storied past, it has been known as a green and pleasant land, a sceptered isle, and a nation of shopkeepers. It has stood as a beacon of democracy and a bastion of ideological freedom. The Magna Carta, the King James Bible, and the welfare state were all conceived here. To many, it remains one of the most eccentric, extraordinary, and downright incomprehensible places on Earth. Welcome to England!

There is so much to see and do in England’s capital city, London: Big Ben, Buckingham Palace, Windsor Castle, Piccadilly Circus, the London Eye, Madame Tussauds, Tower Bridge, dozens of museums and art galleries, Trafalgar Square, Marble Arch, Hyde Park, Greenwich, the Underground, and the historic Tower of London.

Historic Chester, dating back more than 2,000 years to Roman times, is an excellent base for exploring Northwest England and North Wales. Liverpool is just a 30-minute ride from Chester, making it a convenient and memorable day trip. A visit to Liverpool includes iconic sites like The Cavern—birthplace of The Beatles—and the starting point of their famous Magical Mystery Tour.
